"You're not asking if I love this manI just bought the latest Alison Krauss & Union Station album - it's a gem, and this song in particular leapt out at me. I don't know if this refers to faith in the love of a human man or the love of God - but to me it speaks so strongly of the latter. It reminds me of so many conversations I've had with people who don't share my faith and, understandably, can't get their heads round it. And of course, by their very nature, faith and love cannot be logically explained or scientifically proven. It would be like trying to explain colour to someone who has been blind from birth.
I know you don't, you don't believe you can
Yet I've seen love open like a dancer's fan
It's crazy I know, but my faith says so..."
You have to trust me on this one. I've seen love open like a dancer's fan. Here's the Bible verse I was given the day I was baptised:
Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy."
1 Peter 1:9
