Knitted brain by Karen Norberg, via PsicoCafé on Flickr
I've just signed up to donate my brain to the Parkinson's Disease Society's Brain Bank at Imperial College London. They don't want it just yet, but when I go to meet my Maker, they will use my brain in their work to find a cure for Parkinsons disease. (They need human brains because only humans get Parkinsons.) I reckoned that while my Donor Card gets most of me recycled, my brain was just going to go to waste.
I don't have Parkinson's disease in my family, but two of my friends do, and I do have Alzheimers in my family. Anything the Parkinson's people discover is going to be useful to everyone, isn't it? They're looking for donations from people who have Parkinson's and those who don't. Find out more about donating your brain here.
